Dennis represents entrepreneurs in business.
Dennis established D. L. Hall, Attorney, pllc in January, 1999, returning to the private practice as a lawyer after serving as General Counsel and Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for AmeriCare Employers Group, Inc., Arizona’s largest employee leasing firm. Dennis also served as Deputy General Counsel of NovaCare Employee Services, Inc., a national employee leasing firm who acquired AmeriCare, for one year. Dennis provides general commercial legal services for businesses and entrepreneurs and concentrates in representing business clients and specializing in trade practices, copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, antitrust, employment law, and business litigation matters. Dennis also represents intellectual property clients on a contingent fee basis.
After receiving his undergraduate education at Indiana University (A.B. 1975) and earning two graduate degrees in Economics from Columbia University in New York (M.A. 1977; M.Phil. 1979), Dennis taught economics at several colleges. Dennis earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota (J.D., 1987). Dennis’ academic experience (having taught at Columbia University, Dartmouth College, and St. Olaf College) serves as a strong complement to his practice of law.
Dennis began practicing law in 1987 as an attorney for Briggs and Morgan, P.A., in Minneapolis, Minnesota, doing corporate work and commercial litigation, including franchise and antitrust law. In 1989, Dennis joined Freeman, Freeman & Salzman, P.C., in Chicago, Illinois, a nationally known law firm specializing in antitrust litigation. In 1990, Dennis moved to Arizona, continuing primarily in antitrust and complex commercial litigation, including patent litigation, and worked for the law firm of North & Vaira, P.C.
Dennis joined AmeriCare in 1993 as General Counsel, concentrating his efforts for AmeriCare by specializing in the developing law surrounding the industry of Professional Employer Organizations, including employment, regulatory, and ERISA matters. Dennis now concentrates on representing entrepreneurs and businesses as an outside general counsel, guiding the legal needs of developing business.
Dennis has been licensed to practice in the states of Arizona, Illinois, and Minnesota, and currently maintains his practice in Scottsdale, Arizona.
